I preached tonight at the Texas Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas. This great church was started by one of our TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE grads Pastor Keith Bell 9 years ago. We had a great day! He is averaging over 300 each Sunday and on a normal Sunday will baptize 10 to 15. God gave us 50 saved, 40 professions, and 29 baptized today. His church has certainly grown since I was with them last December. Tonight as I walked to the platform with the Pastor I noticed in the congregation Missionary Richard Weaver and his dear family. They are missionaries to the country of Scotland. I feel led of the God to visit them and their country's golf courses. Ha! Richard and his dear wife Brenda are graduates to TEXAS BATIST COLLEGE. Their children are Brianna, Brittany, and son Caleb. These are great soul winners and are veteran missionaries. I hope you will consider supporting their efforts to reach Scotland with the Gospel.

I preached today for my good friend Pastor Keith Bell of the Texas Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas. We had a blessed day! 50 saved, 40 professions, and 29 baptized. I preached tonight on "Will A Man Rob God?" The spirit was great, the response great, and the altars were full! After the service the preacher boys from the church asked to have their picture taken with me. To the right is a picture of those young men! From right to left you will see Matthew Jimenez, Josh Villegas, Vincent Villegas, myself, Manuel Dixon, Frddie Dixon, and Johnny Gonzales. These young men are all going to attend TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE for their training for the ministry. Great decision!WOW! Gotta love soul winning churches who believe in the preserved inspiration of the KJB! You do not have to worry about the KJB being criticized at TBC! AMEN!
I had the privilege of preaching for one of our TBC graduates this morning. Pastor Keith Bell started the Texas Baptist Church 9 years ago! It is amazing what God has done for this man of God. He started this church in a warehouse next top a bar, in fact I think he still drinks a little still! Ha! His church is averaging 300 in attendance on Sundays and is out of room. God gave them a church facility a few years ago and he has renovated it into a beautiful auditorium along with Sunday school space. I was not told the final total for Sunday school this morning but I would suspect it was far greater in number than the normal 300. I taught in Sunday school the lesson on "The Lines of Defense." I preached this morning "Ye Must Be Born Again." There were 55 saved, 40 professions, and 29 baptized. Pastor and Mrs. Bell are a great testimony not only of the grace of God but they are great representatives of TBC! Gotta love soul winning churches! By the way he believes the KJB is preserved inspiration for the English speaking people. You can trust that TBC will not be critical of the preserved inspiration of the KJB at TBC! AMEN!

My son, Bob II, and grandson, (R. G.) Bob III took me out to Starbucks for my birthday, which happens to be 12-18 in case you forgot! Anyway, we were joined by Bob's wife Kelly and Bob's sister Karen for a delightful time. Gotta love family. Kim was busy and that will cost her dearly. Scott and his family will be coming in Tuesday for Christmas. Batten down the hatches the Grays will all be in one town and it will never be the same after this! Ha!

This morning I was up at 6 am! Had my quiet time and went downstairs to get a bite to eat before getting on the treadmill for my 4 miles. While I was eating I noticed a man who was what we called a little person, or a dwarf. He was eating a few tables away from me. When I finished eating I walked over and gave him a Gospel tract. I then went to the exercise room and walked my four miles, slower than usual because of recovering from my surgery. I then went back and saw Pete sitting alone in the lobby. I walked up to him and asked if he read the Gospel tract and he said, "Yes!" I talked to him for a while and found out that he has no family and resides in Florida and is here for a few months just visiting. I carefully went over the Gospel and in a few minutes he bowed his head, took me by the hand, and prayed for Christ to save him. WOW! Gotta love that incorruptible seed of the ole KJB! Don't attempt to tell me the KJB is not preserved inspiration!
Last night Evangelist Allen Domelee joined me in a Sunday night revival meeting at the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, NM, pastored by Brent Lenetine. Pastor Lenetine started this church 21 years ago and is doing a great job of reaching his city with the Gospel. Brother Domelee preached a great message on "Getting Back Up!" It was very encouraging! I preached the sermon "How to Behave in the House of God." The altars were full even before the invitation was given. It was amazing! This is a great church and is doing a wonderful job in following their preacher. I am looking forward to preaching with Brother Domelee tonight also. Gotta love that incorruptible seed of the KJB!

I have had the privilege of preaching for Pastor Brent Lenetine of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, NM, for the past decade. This dear man of God started this church 21 years ago and God has blessed his efforts to reach his city with the Gospel. I was very pleased with the music and the receptiveness of the people to the preaching. They love old fashioned preaching. Tonight I will be joined by Evangelist Allen Domelee for the Sunday night service and we will preach again together on Monday night. We had ten saved and 6 baptized this morning. They are running out of room and had to go to two services on Sunday morning and that is good problem to have for any church. I looked at the drawings for their new auditorium and it looks terrific and certainly needed.
This morning I preached two services for Pastor Brent Lenetine of the Gospel Light Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, NM. I preached a sermon entitled "Forgiveness" in the first service and "Who Shall Be Damned?" in the second service. There were ten saved and 6 baptized altogether. Seven saved in the first service with 3 baptized and 3 saved in the second service with 3 baptized. Pastor Lenetine started the Gospel Light Baptist Church 21 years ago and is doing an excellent job of reaching his city with the Gospel. I was especially blessed by the music. Thank God for men of God who stay true to the Word of God and do not attempt to bring God down to man but rather bring man up to God! This man of God has a great congregation and obviously they love him very much!

I have been recovering from neck surgery over the last 3 1/2 weeks! The doctor said I would have to be sedentary for a few weeks. When I told my wife that she said, "Honey, that is just another word for being lazy!" I told her I thought I could handle that. I had to cancel last week end and was unable to be with my good friend Pastor Kirby Campbell in the state of Washington. This morning I arose at 4 and had my quiet time but no treadmill. Flew to Albuquerque, NM, and was picked up by Pastor Brent Lenetine who pastors the Gospel Light Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, NM. I will be joined by Evangelist Allen Domelee Sunday night and Monday. This is a great soul winning church! After resting for a while I went next door to the Motel to get a bite to eat at the Subway Restaurant. I sat at a table next to a man named Bill McDermit. We joked a little bit together and after a while I went over to his table and continued our conversation. He lives alone in a house trailer and was a devout Catholic. After a few moments I presented the Gospel to him and he took me by the hand and prayed to receive Christ as his personal Saviour. WOW! That old KJB is still preserved inspiration and is THE incorruptible seed that brings life to a dead soul! Don't treat this issue of preserved inspiration lightly. He who sticks his head in the sand gets his behind kicked! Either the KJB is inspired or it is not! Which side of this issue are you on?

Before preaching tonight at the Heritage Baptist Church of Locust Grove, Ga. I visited with a couple of our TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE grads. Pastor Dexter Landers and his assistant Kevin Craig. They and their wives traveled for over an hour to attend the meeting tonight along with 30 of their members. They pastor the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and are doing a great job of reaching their area with the Gospel. We have over 400 grads from TBC and we are proud of all of them. These men and women are leaders in this matter of personal soul winning. Gotta love soul winning!
I preached tonight for Pastor Terrell Hopkins of the Heritage Baptist Church located just outside of the great city of Atlanta, Ga. I preached on "How to Behave in the House of God." The altars were full and the response was great. What a wonderful spirit this church possesses. At the meeting tonight was one of our TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE grads Pastor Dexter Landers. He pastors the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He and his dear wife, children, and people traveled a little over an hour to attend the meeting tonight. Kevin Craig, another TBC grad, is his assistant pastor. He and his wife were also at the meeting tonight. They have a thriving soul winning church and many of the folks they brought tonight are converts. We have over 400 TBC grads around the country and we are proud of all of them. You don't have to wonder about the KJB at TBC! Gotta love serving God!

Tonight I preached on "Let's Go Soul Warning!" at the Heritage Baptist Church of Locust Grove, Ga., pastored by my good friend Pastor Terrell Hopkins. We had 8 saved and 4 baptized! He is doing a wonderful job of reaching the Atlanta, Ga., area with the Gospel. He reminds me a lot of Dr. Curtis Hutson. He is really smitten with this matter of soul winning. He is an aggressive soul winner and a great pulpiteer. I predict this church will have an impact on the Atlanta area in the years to come. They have built a beautiful church complex. The auditorium seats 1,000 and the building was comfortably full this morning. The altars were full with many saying they were going to be "Soul Warners" and help their pastor reach others with the Gospel.
To the left is a picture of Pastor Terrell Hopkins encouraging his congregation to sing. He is a great preacher and a solid fundamentalist. God has allowed me to be in three of their church facilities. This new building is absolutely beautiful. It will seat 1,000 and the building was comfortably full. Pastor Hopkins is a great soul winner and I would not be surprised if God doesn't allow him and his people to reach this great Atlanta area with the Gospel. Gotta love serving God! AMEN!
This morning I preached for my dear friend Pastor Terrell Hopkins of the Heritage Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Ga., just outside of Atlanta, Ga. I have been privileged to preach in three of their church buildings. They have built one of the most beautiful buildings in America. The auditorium seats 1,000 and it was comfortably full this morning. To the right is Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Seymour. They made a profession of faith this morning and will be baptized tonight! Gotta love soul winning! God gave me 7 souls this week! AMEN!
This morning at the McDonald's Restuarant in Locust Grove, Ga., after leading Shantelle Green to Christ I asked Randy to take Shantelle's picture with me. Then I asked him if he was saved and he said, "No!" After a few moments he bowed his head and prayed for Christ to be his personal Saviour. Then Shantelle took our picture! AMEN! I preached at the Heritage Baptist Church of Locust Grove, Ga. this morning to a full house. We had two professions and several for baptisms tonight. Gotta love soul winning!
I am just outside of Atlanta, Ga, in Locust Grove, Ga., preaching for my good friend Pastor Terrell Hopkins. I have been with him through three buildings and currently he and his dear church have built one of the most beautiful buildings in America. His church auditorium seats 1,000 and the building was comfortably full. I was up early and after my quiet time I went to the McDonad's just behind the motel. I met Shantelle Green there. She waited on my and I gave her a Gospel tract to read. When I went back for some cream I spotted her reading the tract. I stopped and explained the Gospel to her and she sweetly bowed her head and asked Christ to pay for her sins. I asked a co-worker Randy Walgreen to take our picture with my i-phone.

My son Bob II, Dr. Wendell Evans, and myself shared the pulpit at Lighthouse Baptist Church of Lancaster, Ohio. In the picture to the right is Dr. and Mrs. Wendell Evans along with my son Dr. Bob II. We have had such great fellowship with Dr. and Mrs. Evans over the years at this conference. Mrs. Evans reminds me of my wife so much! She is a great lady! I will fly out in the morning with my son. Dr. Evans will close out the meeting tomorrow! Mrs. Gray was Dr. Evan's secretary at Hyles-Anderson College. We love these dear servants of God!
Tonight I preached for my good friend Pastor Phil Manning at his annual conference. He has a wonderful church and the spirit is always exciting. One of the great things about this conference is to have one of our Texas Baptist College girls and home grown young lady named Stacy Whithers play the piano for the conference. Her mom and dad are faithful members at Longview Baptist Temple in Longview, Texas. Stacy is the music coordinator for Dr. Tracy Fowler of Canal Winchester, Ohio. I am very proud of this young lady and her family.
I flew into Columbus, Ohio, today and my friend Jerry Simonton picked me up at the airport. Jerry has been my host for many years as I have had the honor of preaching at the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Lancaster, Ohio, for many years. Pastor Phil Manning has been the pastor here for 17 years. That is amazing! He has done an excellent job of reaching his area with the Gospel. Jerry each year makes sure that I have some Tim Horton coffee to not only drink but to take home with me to Texas. We don't have Tim Horton coffee in the south. I believe it is a Canadian chain of coffee places started by a Canadian hockey player. Anyway, it is very good coffee and Jerry keeps me supplied! The building was full! My son Bob II preached first and I preached second!
Monday, November 9, 2009
I had the honor of preaching at the opening night of the OLD PATHS CONFERENCE in Martinsburg, West Va. Dr. Jeff Owens is the pastor of the host church, the Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church, and has been such for seven years. The building was packed and the spirit was great. Evangelist Allen Domalee opened up the conference by preaching "The Eighth Day." It was a great message and a very encouraging message. I preached "Why We Should Be A Personal Soul Winner?" Dr. Owen's son Josh was my host and he did a wonderful job of taking care of me tonight. I will have to get up at 2 am in order to leave the motel at 3 to get to the Baltimore, Md., airport. I will be flying to Chicago in order to fly back to Columbus, Ohio. Figure that one out? I just thought about something that is 1 am Texas time. Ouch! I really feel tired now!

I had the honor of preaching for Pastor Claude Slate today. He pastors the Colonial Baptist Church of Rogers, Arkansas. The building was full tonight. I preached "Let's Go Soul Warning" and the altar was full. Melinda Smith's daughter, Gabby, and son, Charlie walked the aisles tonight professing faith in Jesus Christ for payment of their sins. They were both baptized tonight. Their grandmother, Cheryl Swegies, made a profession of faith this morning and was baptized. Rogers, Arkansas, is next door to Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is one of the fastest growing parts of the country in the Southwest part of our nation. They are building everywhere! This is also the home of Wal Mart!
I preached at the Colonial Baptist Church of Rogers, Arkansas this morning and I will be preaching there tonight. Pastor Claude Slate is a dear friend of 23 years and he is doing a great job of getting the Gospel to his city. To my right is Melinda Smith and her mother Cheryl Swegies. Melinda rededicated her life to Christ this morning and her mother made a profession of faith and followed the Lord in baptism. They had just moved to Rogers from Michigan recently. My wife was born at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, so we had somethings in common! My children were born in Michigan also. Yes, they are yankees! I went behind enemy lines to rescue my wife and children from yankee land. I was born in Roe, Arkansas. Write this date down! December 18, 1945! I expect a card with money in it!
I have the wonderful honor of preaching for my dear friend Pastor Claude Slate of the Colonial Baptist Church of Rogers, Arkansas. A member of that church is a long time brother named Marty Hobbs. This is the dear brother who lived in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, some 25 plus years ago whose wife got his attention with a skillet. Dr. Howard Hall and I were preaching together when we meet Marty the first time in Pine Bluff. His testimony was in one of THE BAPTIST MAGAZINE issues several years ago. What a dear soul winner he is! It was good to see him again!

From left to right in the picture you have Pastors Eleno Orozco, Danny Ortiz, and Jaime Aquilar. Pastor Aquilar is a graduate of Texas Baptist College and has started a church in Mexico City. He held a revival meeting and invited Pastors Eleno Orozco and Danny Ortiz to preach the meeting. They averaged 150 each night and many trusted Christ as Saviour. The interesting thing is that Pastor Orozco was saved at Longview Baptist Temple in 1983. He was the spanish man that came to church but did not know English and in broken spanish a man named Dwayne Nishiemoto (spelling ?) spoke a little spanish and led this man to Christ. He was baptized and later on went to Brother Ashcrafts' Bible College, after surrendering to the ministry for training. He is now a successful pastor in San Luis Potosi, which is a very poor city in Mexico. WOW! Gotta love soul winning!

Tonight at the Hyles Baptist Church the building was full and the joy of the Lord was present. The music was wonderful and the response was great. I preached "Let's Go Soul Warning." Dr. Ron Talley is one of the great preachers of our day. He has done an excellent job of leading his people to reach his city with the Gospel. To the left of me is Brother Bill May who was instrumental in the calling of Dr. Talley to be the pastor of the Hyles Baptist Church. Dr. Talley is approaching his 25th year as pastor of this great church. Thank God for good godly layman like Brother May. Doesn't he look a lot like Dr. Evans? If you are ever in the Richmond, Va., area please do your self a favor and stop in and visit with this dear man of God. Gotta love Soul Winning and Soul Winning churches!
Monday, November 2, 2009
Dr. Talley gave a King James Bible away to the one who brought the most visitors tonight to hear me preach. One man brought ten people for the service. Two of those were his son and daughter in law, Michael and Victoria Powers. Both had been witnessed to many times and have always been very courteous and kind but did not get saved. Tonight they trusted Christ as payment for their sins! AMEN! Their twelve year old son had gotten saved and pleaded with his parents to trust Christ many times before! Tonight he, his grand parents, and church were very happy because Michael and Victoria had gotten saved. Dr. Talley wept as he took me back to the motel telling the story of the family and how God had done such a miraculous work in that family. He told me that this was a miracle tonight! Gotta love soul winning!
I was up at 3:30 and traveled to Columbus, Ohio, to catch a flight to Chicago, Illinois, and then caught another flight to Richmond, Va. I preached tonight for my good friend Dr. Ron Talley, pastor of the Hyles Baptist Church. He has been their pastor for 24 going on 25 years. He is one of the finest preachers I have every heard in my life! He makes the Scriptures live when he preaches! Dr. Talley and I graduated from Hyles-Anderson College together. He has one of the most exciting churches in America. I always look forward to preaching here and fellowshipping with my good friends of the Hyles Baptist Church! Thank you church for loving my friend and your pastor!
Sunday, November 1, 2009
I had the wonderful privilege to preach for Pastor Jay Weaver who pastors the Cardington Baptist Temple in Cardington, Ohio. He has been the pastor since 1999 and is doing a good job of reaching his community with the Gospel. He was born in Columbia to missionaries. His dear mother was at the service this morning. I taught on Forgiveness in Sunday school and preached Who Shall Be Damned? in the morning service. As of now I plan to preach tonight on Everything Rises Or Falls on Followship. We had a nice lunch today with the pastor, his wife, and their 17 year old son. God gave me 9 souls this week and God gave me two baptisms in two different churches today. It is a thrill to receive calls from churches where I have preached and hear of converts walking the aisles after I have left town. I will be getting up at 3:30 ET to catch a flight to Chicago and then on to Richmond, Va, for a Monday and Tuesday meeting with Dr. Ron Tally. What a great preacher he is! I love the name of his church-HYLES BAPTIST CHURCH!

Today I was able to spend time with my 97 year old mother in Murfreesboro, Tn. She is doing well considering her age. Her eyes are starting to dim and she is anxious to go home to Heaven. I told her that was out of her hands. She is one of the hardest working ladies I have ever known in my life. She is the finest Christian I have ever known and I love her! Wednesday night I preached for Dr. Mike Norris pastor of the Franklin Road Baptist Church of Murfreesboro. He became pastor there in 1999 and has done an excellent job of reaching his area with the Gospel. They have been in a building program for a while and the facilities are absolutely first class. The people were very responsive. I preached "Let's Go Soul Warning!" I believe it was a help! I was able to see many old friends. Dr. Tom Wallace and several SWORD workers were in attendance.
Sunday, October 25, 2009
I spent the week end preaching for my good friend Dr. Dave Baker, pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Columbia, Tn. Dr. Baker started this church and God has certainly blessed them through out the years. They have an annual old fashioned service and today was the day. The buildings were full and the invitation very fruitful. There were 12 professions of faith and 5 baptisms by the end of the day and several joined the church. Dr. Baker has done an excellent job of reaching his community with the Gospel. Yes! He normally dresses this way! Hard to believe isn't it! Ha!
Tonight I preached at the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Columbia, Tn. It was an old fashioned service with a battle between the Hatfields and the McCoys. The church was divided up between those two notorious families and their feud was carried on as apart of this Sunday school campaign. At the end of the day the Hatfield's won the campaign and the Corbins were apart of the winning Hatfield's. David and Katy are graduates of TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE!
I spoke in Sunday school this morning to the combined teenagers of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Columbia, Tn. We had a great time teaching on "Forgiveness." They listened very well and responded very well. Three teens received Christ as their Saviour. Brother David Corbin and Katy Corbin are doing an excellent job working with the teens! David and Katy are graduates of TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE of Longview, Texas. Katy's dad served as Chairman of the Longview Baptist Temple Deacon Board for many years and is still Chairman. I am glad to call them my friends! It is great to be able to travel the country clipping coupons from 33 years of pastoring! Gotta love serving the Lord! Dr. Dave Baker is doing an excellent job of winning the lost in Columbia, Tn.

One of our soul winning stops was to visit a man who was shot in the face with a shot gun. He is at home from the hospital. He was given a 50 50 chance of surviving. He did survive! He has some more surgeries facing him. He is blind and they are hoping for success with future surgeries to at least give a little sight in the one eye that is left. He listen intently to the Gospel and after a little while bowed his head and asked Christ to save him from an eternal death in Hell. He, his wife and children are coming in the morning to church along with a dear lady who was visiting and doing his wife's hair. Please pray for Thomas Jones and his up coming surgeries.
I arrived in Nashville, Tn., around 11 am and Dr. Dave Baker meet me at the airport and we traveled about 45 miles to Columbia, Tn. He took me to the motel and I unpacked and then we went soul winning and God allowed us to lead 8 precious souls to Christ. To my left are a dad and son that received Christ as payment for their sins. Kenneth and Kervante Hughes were very attentive to the Gospel presentation and they both prayed to trust Christ. They are supposed to be ready in the morning to come to church. Please pray for them, when you think about it, for them to come. Gotta love soul winning. Still praying for a miracle for Mrs. Connie Engleman wife of Pastor Bruce Engleman. She has terminal cancer. They will be going to M.D. Anderson of Houston on Monday! They are dear people!

Last night after the soul winning meeting at 7 I had the honor of going soul winning with my granddaughter, DeAnna Gray, and a fella who has been hanging around her a lot lately Josh Doyle. I am not sure what is going on here but he seems like a nice guy! My wife calls him "the boy." We were able to lead three folks to Christ last night! Josh led Marcos Vizueth to Christ. I led his son to Christ and DeAnna led another teenager to Christ who was walking down Green Street. We had a great time and I am so proud of all of my grandchildren. They all care about souls and almost every week have some one saved because of their efforts. Gotta love it!!!!! By the way don't tell Josh but I like him!!!!
Last night at our weekly soul winning I had the honor of going with my granddaughter, DeAnna Gray, and her friend Josh Doyle. We had the privilege of leading three folks to Christ. To my left is the Vizueth family. Augustina is the wife and mother and a very sweet lady. Marcos, the husband and dad, is a contractor and remodels homes. He is an excellent worker! Last night Marcos and his son Fernando bowed their heads and prayed to trust Jesus Christ for payment of their sins. Augustina was saved and baptized a few years back and was excited to watch her son and husband come to Christ. They are supposed to come this Sunday with other family members also. Please pray for them!
Monday, October 19, 2009
I had the wonderful privilege of leading Pastor Carroll Martins' niece to the Lord. She made a profession of faith Sunday night and followed the Lord in baptism. She is a sweet 15 year old young lady! The family was very excited about her decision to receive Christ as payment for her sins. Pastor Martin wept while presenting his niece to the church for baptism. Gotta love soul winning!
Sunday I spent the day preaching for one of our TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE graduates Pastor Carroll Martin. The building was packed out! The people had a great spirit and they worked very hard to get folks to church. Pastor Martin started with 16 folks 7 years ago and he has done an excellent job of loving these folks in this rural area of Virginia. Arrington, Virginia, is about 30 minutes from Lynchburg, Virginia. I will be preaching there Monday night at 7 pm. I am looking forward to seeing many dear preacher friends Monday!
Sunday, October 18, 2009
I was pleased to be able to preach for one of our TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE graduates Pastor Carroll Martin. He started with 16 people 7 years ago and Sunday had over 200 in attendance with 8 professions of faith and 7 baptisms. The building was packed out and the spirit was great! This dear man of God is a great soul winner and an excellent pastor! Thank you pastor for being such a great representative of our Lord!

The dear man in this picture is a member of Arlington Baptist Church of Richmond, California, just next to Oakland, California. He has been my host each year for almost a decade. I have the utmost admiration for this dear man and his family. He is a soul winner and a valuable asset to Dr. Michael Callaghan who is his pastor. It is dear folks like this that make a great church like Arlington Baptist Church. Thank you Brother Guzman for your friendship and being just a fine host for this preacher!

This has been a great week end and I am looking forward to tonight's service. Alvin Martinez will be coming in to provide the special music. What a great Christian and what a a wonderful singer of Gospel songs. He is a staff member for Dr. Jack Treiber of North Valley Baptist Church. He has been used of God to build a great Sunday school class running over 200 and he started from scratch. However, the most important event of the day was the competition for the Callaghan Cup! I am sorry to report that I lost the Callaghan Cup to Dr. Callaghan! His son, David, kept the score because he said he did not trust either one of us to do so. I shot an 86 and Dr. Callaghan shot an 82. I won the cup last year and was supposed to bring it back with me but I can't find it! I will keep looking however! Ha! Could it be David used partiality? JUST A THOUGHT!
I saved the best for this picture. Karen is the baby of the family and is the best of the best! I remember when she was born and I have watched her grow into a fine young Christian lady. She is currently a freshman at Golden State Baptist College. She travels home on the week ends to participate in the soul winning ministries of her church. She is a personal soul winner and I am very proud of this young lady!
This is a picture taken after the Sunday night service of the Callaghans. Dr. Callaghan and his wife Joyce have two great sons married to two wonderful young ladies, a fine daughter, and of course the grandchildren are the BEST of ALL! Gotta love family!
Sunday I spend the day preaching for Dr. Michael Callaghan at the Arlington Baptist Church of Richmond, California, just outside of Oakland, California. Pastor Callaghan and his dear wife Joyce have faithfully served in this church for nearly 20 years. Sunday was a great day with 22 saved and 7 baptized by the end of the day. The building was full Sunday morning with services being held in other places on the property. What a blessing it was to be able to fill this man of God's pulpit.
Sunday, October 11, 2009
This morning I had the privilege of preaching at the Arlington Baptist Church of Richmond, California, just outside of Oakland, California, for my good friend Dr. Michael Callaghan. God gave us 12 souls saved in the main auditorium and many others in the other services being conducted on property. One of those that trusted Christ was a young man named Julian Alanis. Standing beside him is his cousin Marissa Mendoza and his sister Jeanette Alanis. They were so excited to see Julian come to Christ and to follow the Lord in baptism. We had a great spirit this morning and I am looking forward to tonight's service. Gotta love church!
This week end I had the privilege of preaching for my good friend Dr. Michael Callaghan. He pastors the Arlington Baptist Church of Richmond, California and has successfully done so for nearly 20 years. Mrs. Gray and I have known the Callaghans for nearly 3 decades. What great servants of our Lord they have been for these many years. The family took me out to lunch at a Chinese restaurant and it was a great time of fellowship. Their two sons Dave and Dan are working for and with their dad and doing a wonderful job. Also, they attended the President's Cup on Friday and shook Tiger Woods' hand and former President Bill Clinton's hand. The boys said they would never wash their hands again after shaking hands with Tiger but both immediately washed their hands after shaking President Clinton's hand. Ha!

I preached at the Gospel Light Baptist Church of Utica, New York, tonight. Pastor Jody Martin is doing a great job. He has a dear wife and wonderful children. At the meeting tonight I was able to fellowship a little with Pastor Kevin Keever and his precious wife Lois. Kevin is a 1998 graduate of Texas Baptist College and is currently serving at the Fords Bush Bible Baptist Church in New York. We had a great meeting tonight with the altars packed and the resolve to have a great soul winning crowd on this coming Saturday. What a needy area this is for the Gospel. Please pray for this church as they attempt to reach Utica with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This church purchased a Catholic church building and have renovated it into an independent Baptist church facility. What a miracle this church is!

I love kids! The are so unpretentious and honest! (Most of the time) Here are six neighborhood children who trusted Christ and made a public profession of their faith. Islaam Aimateen, Greg Aranda, Sincere Washington, Derick Craft, and Don Mclean. If you stop to think about all of the great preachers of the past generation, they were all saved at the ages of these young people. Never discount the new birth of a youngster. I have heard some say that they would like for the children to have an adult-like experience, but according to Matthew chapter 18 Jesus said that he wanted those adults to have a child-like experience!
I had the wonderful privilege of preaching for Pastor Jody Martin of the Gospel Light Baptist Church of Utica, New York today. To my right you will see from left to right on the back row, Deena, Jan, Sarah, and Pastor Martin. The front row you have Rachel, Connie, Laura, Curtis, and Wyett. I was up at 4 on Saturday morning and did not arrive at the Hampton Inn in Utica until 8:45 Saturday night. My luggage did not make it to Syracuse, New York. The dear pastor drove back to meet the 11 pm flight to retrieve my bags. God bless him! He delivered the bags at 1 in the morning. Neither one of us got much sleep Saturday night. Please pray for this dear family and this precious church!

I had the wonderful privilege of filling the pulpit for my dear friend Pastor Alton Byrd who pastors the Liberty Baptist Church of Frisco, Texas. Pastor Byrd started this church as a mission out of the Liberty Baptist Church of Lewisville, Texas. He has a great location right on Main Street of one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. People everywhere! By the way the people are very receptive to the Gospel. We had 5 raise their hands receiving Christ as their Saviour this morning. I am excited about the fantastic opportunity Pastor Byrd has been given by God in this explosive growth area. God allowed me to lead 12 to Christ this week with two of those following the Lord in baptism. I have two families lined up for tonight's service! Gotta love soul winning!
