Mary Elizabeth Gray

Mary Elizabeth Gray was born on May 13, 1912, in De Valls Bluff,  Arkansas. Mama went to Heaven on Christmas Day 2010. She married Perry Gray on July 8, 1929. Daddy went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 1990. Daddy and Mama had six children; Edward (Perry), Paul (Irvin), Faye Laverne, Bob (Glynn), Jerry (Gerald Wayne), and Sandy (Sanford Lynn). Mama had 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Last night we gathered at the Brown Funeral Home in Clarendon, Arkansas for visitation. We were able to see many of our family and friends. It was a wonderful time in rejoicing over our mother's life and legacy! Today we will have a celebration service for her at 1 pm in Roe, Arkansas.

I want to thank Jerry and his dear wife Ronnie for all that they did for Mama. They were sent of God at a time when no one else could have cared for Mama like that wonderful family. Jerry, Ronnie, and Kevin, their son, loved and cared for Mama like no one could have! GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!

I want to thank everyone for the flowers, cards, and calls. I am going to miss my Mama. She was the hardest working lady I have every known. She was the spiritual stalwart one in our family. Filled with integrity and honesty! I thank the Lord for her legacy of truth! Buy the truth and sell it not symbolized her!

Dr. Bob Gray and Family
I trust you are having a wonderful 2010 Christmas. All of us need to remind ourselves of this being Jesus' birthday and take time to thank God for HIS SON! I asked Jesus Christ to be the payment for all of my sins; past, present, and future, at age 11 and I have never regretted doing so. (Romans 10:13) As far as I know all of our family have also trusted Jesus as their personal Saviour. What a blessing!

Our family is doing well. We had to postpone our own family get together until Thursday because of my mother being near Heaven's door. I drove to Murfreesboro, Tn., to say goodbye to her and let her know how much I love her. My brother Jerry and his dear wife Ronnie have cared for Mama in such an unselfish way and all of us are blessed to have them.

I was able to spend some time with my brother Jerry and I enjoyed myself. We are all simply waiting for a phone call of Mama's home going. She was the BEST! She lived through the depression and her 98 years of life were not easy but she certainly provided spiritual direction for all of us!

Mrs. Gray had a new Morphine Pump put in this year and I believe it is performing better than the last one. The first Pump lasted for ten years and needed to be replaced. She is doing better but still unable to do much. Two of our ten grandchildren will be graduating from college this next year. DeAnna Gray will finish up in December and is engaged to another senior of TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE Josh Doyle. They have a May wedding planned. Joe Simmons, son of Mark and Kim Simmons, will be graduating next May. He is not engaged yet, but it looks like it might be soon! Ha! He keeps hanging around a certain young lady! Oh, youthful love!

I will keep you updated about Mama and I trust you will be praying for Jerry and Ronnie. They have certainly sacrificed to make life easier for her! GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!

I had the honor for preaching for one of our Texas Baptist College grads Pastor Keith Bell Sunday and Monday! What a great spirit!

Last night we had a couple saved and baptized bring a total of 67 saved and 23 baptized! Amen!

On my way into the Holiday Inn I struck up a conversation with an employee Erika! I gave her one if our church tracts and explained to her how she could know for sure she was going to Heaven when she died! She was very attentive and in a few minutes bowed her head and asked Christ to be the payment for all of her sins! Wow! GOTTA LOVE SOUL WINNING!

One of 9 bus routes
Pastor Keith Bell
I flew to San Antonio, Texas, yesterday to preach for one of TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE grads. Pastor Keith Bell and his family started the TEXAS BAPTIST CHURCH ten years ago in San Antonio. WOW! What a great job he is doing. Could I encourage you to visit their web site at and look for yourself. His church was jammed packed today with several services being held all over the church property. There were well over 500 people in attendance today in all of the services!

Pastor Bell and his dear wife Julie are aggressive personal soul winners and the hand of God is obviously on them and  their church. If you are ever in San Antonio please stop by and visit this church. You will not be sorry you took the time. By the way San Antonio is a great place to take a family vacation. Not only are their some great historical sites to visit but a great church as well.

This morning God gave us 65 saved, 31 professions, and 21 baptized. It was a thrill to see so many adults unashamedly professing faith in Jesus Christ as the payment for all of their sins. I taught in Sunday school a lesson on "FAITH, WORKS, OR BOTH?" Then on Sunday morning I preached a new message entitled "HEAVEN OR HELL-IT IS YOUR CHOICE!" People started walking the aisles before the invitation began. It was amazing! GOTTA LOVE SOUL WINNING CHURCHES!

Pastor and Mrs. Keith Bell

I finally arrived at San Antonio, Texas! Pastor and Mrs. Keith Bell picked me up at the airport and took me to the Cracker Barrel! Love it!

I have been up since 5. I had my quiet time and did a mile on the treadmill. I finished my packing and preparing to go to the Longview airport. Assistant Pastor Bob Queen will pick me up at 11:15. This is great having a little extra time at home. Mrs. Gray is doing better! I was able to take her for a little time to the store and she rode her cart around the store. I was proud of her she didn't hit anybody or any thing. We had a bite to eat and when we came home she was exhausted.

I will be preaching for one of our TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE grads this weekend and on Monday night.  Pastor Keith Bell started the TEXAS BAPTIST CHURCH ten years ago and is being blessed for his aggressive soul winning. I am looking forward to being with him, his people, and his dear family.

TEXAS BAPTIST COLLEGE has over 400 grads serving around the world and we are extremely proud of them and their service to our LORD. One thing about TBC when you send your young people you will never have to worry about any critical statements about the KING JAMES BIBLE! Dr. Bob Gray II has made it very clear about our stand. When so many so-called leaders in fundamentalism find it academically popular to laud their own knowledge against simple faith in God's ability to preserve inspiration in the English KJB you will not have to worry about TBC.

I will be teaching a course on the KJB this next semester at TBC and want to thank Dr. Gail Riplinger for her work and its tremendous impact on this generation. In this day with so many "man-child" leaders in fundamentalism we need to know the truth and not be "snowed" by rhetoric. I really am not concerned about your debating skills. I am more concerned about what God says! Child like faith allowed me to have salvation and child like faith allows me to trust God in His ability to give me HOLY SCRIPTURES in the English language.

This is not something to minimize or to leave to the thought that it is merely semantics. This is not semantics! Dr. Bob Gray II is my son, a preacher, and my pastor. That is semantics! To say that "inspired" and "not inspired" is an example of semantics is childish and irresponsible! "Why are you still harping on this?" For the same reason I harp on doctrines! This is a foundational tenet and must not be attacked! If the foundations be destroyed we are in trouble. Until I see in writing a retraction of the statement that the KJB is "not inspired"by those who penned it in the first place only then will I leave this subject alone!

Years ago I was preaching with Dr. Jack Hyles at the MILLER ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH of Garland, Texas. At the Q  & A on Tuesday morning Lindsay Terry asked Dr. Hyles if he had heard Dr. John McArthur's statement that the "blood of Jesus dissipated at the foot of calvary and that only His death is necessary for salvation!" Dr. Hyles asked Lindsay if he had ever misspoken. His reply was, "Yes!" Dr. Hyles suggested that we have all misspoken and that we should not be so quick to be critical until "...HE PUTS THAT STATEMENT IN PRINT..." then you would have a right to challenge his statement! Well, that is what has happened here! GOTTA LOVE THE KJB!

Announcement time
4 inches of snow and still snowing

I flew from Tyler, Texas, to DFW and then caught a direct flight to Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Saturday. Pastor Doug Jackson who started THREE RIVERS BAPTIST CHURCH 15 years ago met me at the airport and took me to the Holiday Inn Express Motel. I checked in called the Mrs. and then went to do my 3 miles on the treadmill. I finished two chapters on one of my new books. I reviewed the final 5 manuscripts of "LET'S TALK ABOUT JESUS." I then called my converts to make sure they were still coming Sunday. I had 3 lined up this morning back home and hopefully they came.

When I woke up at 6 this morning and went downstairs I could not believe what I say. 4 inches of snow on the ground and it was still snowing. The pastor picked me up for Sunday school at 9:30 and I was told there was a snow advisory out for this section of Indiana. A little lady at church said to me that she was praying for a blizzard so I would have to stay through the rest of the week. I sure hope not! They like me when I blow in, blowup, and then blow out of town. If I stayed too long they would not like me! Ha!

This is a great soul winning church and it is a miracle church. They are running around 400 after 15 years and I am thrilled for them about their future. I believe they will impact this city for the cause of Christ. The music was straight down the line and soul stirring. The spirit reminds me of the LONGVIEW BAPTIST TEMPLE. The Pastor and his dear wife have been battling health issues but they have still provided great leadership for these precious people of God!

This morning at the THREE RIVERS BAPTIST CHURCH I taught my lesson on "FORGIVENESS" in the adult Sunday school class  in the auditorium. Several came to me in between Sunday school and church and said it was exactly what they needed. GOD IS GOOD! I then preached my sermon "WHY DO I STILL HAVE MY BURDENS?" At the end God gave us 15 saved, 11 professions, 1 addition, and 3 baptisms. God was all over the invitation today! GOTTA LOVE SERVING THE LORD!

I will be up at 3 am Saturday morning to start my day. Assistant Pastor Bob Queen will be by to pick me up at 5:15 to drive me to Tyler for an American Eagle flight to DFW and then a direct American Eagle flight to Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I will be preaching for my good friend Pastor Doug Jackson who pastors the  THREE RIVERS BAPTIST CHURCH of Fort Wayne. He and his dear wife have had some health problems and Mrs. Gray and I have certainly been praying for them. We know what that is like!

Mrs. Gray is doing a little better with her new Medical Pump and was able to go to the eye doctor on Thursday. She tires quickly but still has plenty of spunk! Ha! I thought they became mellow in old age! Guess not! We are both looking forward to seeing all of the kids and grandkids for the holidays! GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!
