11 SAVED AND 3 BAPTIZED AT CROSSROADS BAPTIST CHURCH

Sunday Morning
Saturday morning I was up early, had my quiet time, did my two miles, showered, dressed, and gathered some things for Mrs. G who is still at Mother Francis Hospital and left the house to drive to Tyler. My wife is on a Taco Bell kick so I stopped by and bought a number 5 without the sour cream and unsweetened ice tea. I also stopped by and bought her some Lorne Doones. She loves those cookies.

I then left to drive to Gainesville, TX., to preach for my friend Dr. Garry Way who pastors the CROSSROADS BAPTIST CHURCH. He and his dear wife just celebrated their 25th Anniversary at CROSSROADS.  I first met them in 1989. I have preached here many times and one of those was with Dr. Jack Hyles.

Zain and Stacey

This morning the buildings were full, the spirit great, and the music exceptional. I taught my Sunday school lesson on "PUTTING THE PASSION IN COMPASSION" and preached my sermon "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN!" There were 11 saved and 3 baptized. Two of the folks who received Christ and were baptized were Zain and his wife Stacey. They are from Pakistan and were very receptive to the Gospel. When it came time for baptism the Pastor's son told me the baptistry heater was broken. Zain spoke up and said, "We don't care if its cold. We need to do this!"

As the pastor was reading the names of the converts I left the front and started to go to the book table when a 6 or 7 year old little boy on the back row motioned for me to come to where he was seated.  I leaned over the pew and asked, "What is it son?" He said to me, "I prayed too! Doesn't that count?" I talked to him for a minute and he said he wanted to get baptized too. I asked his mother and she started to weep and said it was OK. GOTTA LOVE SOUL WINNING!

I will be preaching tonight at 7 pm. There was a Monday night meeting scheduled, but due to Mrs. G's hospital stay it has been cancelled and I will be driving back in the morning to be with her.

Mrs. G had a catheter inserted in her chest yesterday as a method of allowing the antibiotics to enter directly into her system. Today after the service I called and she said they put her leg up and are going to check for possible blood clots because her leg started swelling. If her tests are OK they will allow her to come home Monday. I will be going directly to the hospital in the morning. She is amazing!

UPDATE ON MRS. G

Jordan, Nick, and Aly
Mrs. G went through her surgery on Tuesday as well as could be expected. Dr. Walker reopened her surgical area and cleaned the area and she has been on antibiotics to fight the staph infection. This will not affect her hip replacement he says.

Dr. Walker has turned her over to an infectious disease Doctor who said today that she will have to stay in Mother Francis Hospital of Tyler, Texas, through Tuesday at the latest. She will then have a catheter inserted so they can run the antibiotics directly into her system. She will be able to come home, but She will have to go to the doctor's office in Tyler each day so they can look at the surgical area and give her more antibiotics until this thing is cleared up.

Three of our grandchildren attended their first day of school at TEMPLE BAPTIST SCHOOLS of LONGVIEW BAPTIST TEMPLE on Wednesday. Jordan Gray is in the eleventh grade. Nick Forgy is in the tenth grade and his sister Aly is in the ninth grade. Wow! Hard to believe these youngin's are in high school. This is the end of the line! Sorry I mean until Josh and DeAnna decide to do the right thing and give us some GREAT GRANDCHILDREN! Ha! GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!

MRS. G TO HAVE ANOTHER SURGERY

Richard
This past week has been very interesting to say the least. Mrs. G is recovering from a complete hip replacement and having a difficult time. We have been replacing bandages regularly and it seemed as if the leaking would not stop from the surgery. The local nurse suggested we go back to see our surgeon which we did. He took a couple of staples out and it gushed from a pocket of fluid. We came home and it seemed to bring a little relief, but it started all over again.

We went back to the doctor on Monday and he is putting her in the hospital this morning to do surgery on her hip. He is going to clean out the infection and keep her for a few days. She is a little discouraged and yet we are hopeful this will take care of the infection. She has a dormant staphylococcus and always had a fear of it returning. We do not think this is the case, but why pray when you can worry! Ha!

I have made dozens of trips to the pharmacy to purchase bandages and gauze. One morning as I was entering Walgreens a man was standing outside and I greeted him and he told me his name was Richard. When I was leaving he was still there. I asked if he was OK and he said he had a prescription he needed filled, but had no money. He was waiting for a sister to come, but she never showed up. I took him inside and purchased his prescription for him and while we were waiting I had the privilege of leading him to Christ. He wept and thanked me. GOTTA LOVE SOUL WINNING!

OAKWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH

Sunday Morning
This morning I had the honor of preaching for Pastor Brian Evans who pastors the Oakwood Baptist Church of Flowery Branch, GA., which is just outside of Atlanta. He started this church ten years ago and is doing a wonderful job of leading them to win souls. God gave us two souls and two baptisms this morning.

I preached my sermon, "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN!" this morning. There are four types of life in the Bible.

1) Plant Life-corruptible seed
2) Animal Life-corruptible seed
3) Human Life-corruptible seed
4) Spiritual Life-incorruptible seed

You cannot baptize a plant and make it an animal. Neither can you baptize an animal and make it a human. Thus it is also true that you cannot baptize a human and make it a spiritual being. Birth is the only way to be apart of one of these four types of life mentioned in the Bible. That is why Jesus said, "Ye must be born again" to a religious leader. By the way you cannot unborn anything! WOW! Once saved always saved!

Amanda

This morning as I was leaving my room to go to the lobby to wait for my ride to church I met a dear lady named Amanda. She had her work cut out for her today as some others were unable to come into work today. I was thrilled to be able to give her the Gospel and she was so kind to listen as went over the Scriptures about Heaven and Hell. After a little while she bowed her head and asked Christ to be her personal Saviour and to pay for all of her sins. AMEN! GOTTA LOVE SOUL WINNING!

FLYING TO ATLANTA, GA., TO PREACH

It is way too early for any human being to be up. It is 2:45 a.m. and I am getting ready to go to the Tyler Airport for a flight to DFW and then on to Atlanta, Ga., to preach in a FOUNDATION CONFERENCE. Dr. Russell Anderson and Evangelist Monte Watts will be joining me there for a Sunday through Tuesday. Dr. Monte Watts started the FOUNDATION CONFERENCES many years ago and God certainly has blessed them in a mighty way.

I will be preaching Sunday for my good friend Pastor Brian Evans who pastors the OAKWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH of Flowery Branch, GA. If you are in the area please stop by for one of the services. Monday night at 7 p.m., Tuesday morning, and Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Mrs. G is doing well although she is still recovering. My daughters will be caring for her while I am gone. The TEXAS HOME HEALTH CARE people have been extra helpful this week with daily visits and check-ups. She is up and around with her walker but tires easily.

We have decided to open the "Gray Nursing Home" with cheap rates. Ha! I am chief bottle washer, cook, and clothes hamper person. I even changed her bandages! That was a tough one! Keep praying and hopefully she will be using her cane in a few weeks. GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!

MRS. G IS HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL

Mrs. G's total hip replacement surgery went great. Dr. Walker did a fabulous job and may I say to the folks at Mother Francis Hospital thank you for all of your careful care.

She had her surgery Tuesday with rehab  each day. I was her "coach" for the rehab. She was released from the hospital Friday at noon. The first thing she wanted was nachos and a cheese enchilada from Taco Bell. We drove through the drive thru and then came home.

Friday night was a rough night for her. She had her meds but was up every few hours. I didn't get much sleep and neither did she. In fact you will see a pic of me at the top taken this morning. Ha!!

I cancelled my meetings this week end to stay with her and hopefully she will still want me around after all of my "coaching" is completed. The Texas Home Health Care Director came by today to see Mrs. G and to fill out a zillion papers. They will start on Monday with their part of the rehab. She has to give herself shots to prevent infection and prevent potential blood clots.

Thank you to all of you who have expressed your love and prayers. She is doing as well as can be expected. I will keep you updated! GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!

KING JAMES BIBLE CONFERENCE NOVEMBER 13-16

I have always been very selective of the conferences that I would attend in my 38 years of preaching. This is one of those conferences that is an essential in this day of slight of hand verbal trickery of some word smiths on the issue of an inspired English-speaking people's Bible.  There will be no double-talk on this issue at this meeting. These are men who love the Bible and know the Bible.

I trust you will take the time to attend and receive clear teaching and preaching on the preserved inspired King James Bible. These men of God have the goods on this issue. This will be a blessed time and a time of learning to be better equipped to teach the next generation what the previous generation gave us. GOTTA LOVE THE KING JAMES BIBLE!

GREAT NIGHT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

I preached tonight at the GOSPEL LIGHT BAPTIST CHURCH of Manchester, NH. The buildings were filled with folks. Also, there were folks in the overflow watching on closed circuit TV. The spirit was superb and the response was electric. These dear men of God in the New England area are heroes in my sight. They are carving out some great works in the part of our nation where it all began.

I preached tonight my sermon "ODD MAN OUT!" II Kings 22:1-8. Text was verse 8! The preacher is a soloist. He was never meant to play the accompaniment to anything. The pulpit is not a platform from which to boost the projects of man. No matter how much Scripture may be quoted or how many false prophets bid Ahab to go up against Ramoth-Gilead. Micaiah will stand his ground and refuse to be swept off his feet by popular movements whether fundamental or evangelical.

This is a day in fundamentalism of unification, with Ahabs and Jehoshaphats uniting. A day of unanimity with 400 prophets in unison. A day of uniformity. The messenger advised Micaiah that he must agree with the clergy. However, Micaiah had not been regimented, standardized, or prioritized. He was not riding the bandwagon. He was not on his way up. The grass did not look greener in the next pasture. He craved no man's position. He was not a link in anybody's chain.

Fundamentalism is gradually being homogenized into one faceless, monolithic mass. It is the day of the lowest common denominator, the happy medium, and the middle of the road. A pleasant "get-alongism" or a "togetherness" has so paralyzed fundamentalism into moral inertia that it is almost impossible to arouse us from an amiable stupor.

The steamroller is flattening all the mountains into one level plain. Such times do not breed prophets! Men who speak for God never merge into the fog around them. Noah stood alone! Elijah stood alone! Amos stood alone! Jeremiah stood alone! Daniel stood alone! Paul stood alone! Jack Hyles stood alone! Lester Roloff stood alone! Lee Roberson stood alone! John the Baptist stood alone!

It is not easy being the lone dissenter when the messenger was sent to Micaiah he must have said in effect, "The clergy at the college have agreed and you had better make it unanimous!"

Several ways to silence the odd man out!

1) Persecution - John the Baptist
2) Promotion - Balaam
3) Pressure - Jeremiah
4) Another Prophet - He was deceived by another prophet

Organized religion, whether fundamental or evangelical, hates the preacher whose headquarters is heaven, not his college, and whose superintendent is God. They are enraged when they cannot control him. It is not the business of a prophet to harmonize with the crowd around him. True prophets are solitary people. Eagles do not fly in flocks! GOTTA LOVE SERVING THE LORD!

It is 108 degrees in Longview, TX., with a 113 heat index. WOW! Unbelievable! It was higher in Dallas and I am flying home in the morning.

Be sure and pray for Mrs. G as she goes into surgery for a complete hip replacement in the morning. I will be flying into Tyler, TX., and going straight to the hospital to be with her.  GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!
