WONDERFUL INSTALLATION SERVICE FOR MY SON SCOTT GRAY

DEACONS PRAYING FOR THEIR
NEW PASTOR
SCOTT RECEIVING NEW BIBLE
FROM CHAIRMAN OF THE
DEACON BOARD
SUNDAY NIGHT @ LIBERTY BAPTIST
JENNY, STEVEN, and PHILIP
(Scott Jr. was with the HAC Tour Group)

Sunday night I was privileged to preach at the LIBERTY BAPTIST CHURCH of Durham, NC.   This night was especially thrilling for me for it was the installation service for my son Scott.  Dr. Jack Cox served this great church for 30 years and due to his health felt it was time for the church to seek out a younger man to lead them.

My son and Dr. Cox have been friends for many years and had preached at LIBERTY many times.   It was a 99% vote for my son to become the pastor.  That is unheard of in a large church.  Scott has been in the ministry for over 2 decades and is a wonderful soul winner.

Mrs. Gray and myself could not be any more excited.  Scott is our, forgive me for saying it, our baby.   I know he is in his 40's, but still he is our youngest.    I had purchased airplane tickets for Mrs. G. to come with me for this occasion.

However, when I awoke early Saturday morning she asked me to look at her big toe.  I looked and it was swollen and turning blue.  She thought she had broke it somehow when she got up to let the poodle out.  She was taken to the emergency room and they found a good size cyst between her toes.   Unfortunately she was unable to come with me. In two weeks she will have to have another surgery if you can believe that.  So, I made the trip alone.

LIBERTY BAPTIST CHURCH is a great church and I believe the days ahead will be even greater.  God bless you son and family as you serve the dear people in Durham.  By the way I expect to get some basketball tickets to either Duke or North Carolina.  Don't forget dad!

GOTTA LOVE FAMILY!
